Default WHY ???? with pictures

here my dyno graph to my car when my motor blew after picking it up. it blew the next day cracking the stock sleeve. But the thing is i drove it four hours home, and it drove fine. But i stop and got mid-grade gas because they ran out of the preimun grade and i was running out so i had to get gas. So the next morning i let the car warm up for like 5 min and drove it for about 5 miles and puch it in first around a corner and BANG white smoke..
Question is what might have made it blow, it was running fine home. cause it be the cheap gas? or that the car wasnt warmed up completly?

maybe it started to crack during dyno and then from sitting over night and getting so cold and then it warming up and getting hot again did it in the rest of the way

it can be a number of reasons.

i'm no expert at tuning and dyno's but i think the a/f should be even all the way across but i may be wrong. i'm not sure

what was the setup?

I dont know, but looking at that A/F graph, looks tad lean on few places.

So you had it tuned on premium gas, then you ran it on cheaper fuel. The lower octane probably caused detonation.

I accidentally put cheap gas in my civic after being boosted for 5 years, it blew the ring lands out of it before i knew what happened.

I doubt it had anything to do with the engine being cold.

I would guess the lean spot before 6000 rpms and crappy gas. I'm not a tuner but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.

But, seriously that graph does not look right @ 5800-6000 rpms.

Did they retard the ignition time at all? If they didn't then that could have been the problem. By retarding the ignition time you move away from the detonation threshold. You lose a slight amount of power but that can be compensated by better fuel or an intercooler. Both better fuel and an intercooler allow for more timing without the threat of detonation.

by putting the cheaper gas in it after it was tuned with premium will definatley cause a detonation because of the compression ratio if either its boosted or just a jdm motor u should always burn premium if thats wat it was tuned with so i would say the fuell u used sorry for ya loss

Well im not sure what he did or if he did, but i do have s300 so i can get the calibration off the Smanager and post it here and see what you guys think. I cant do it yet because im still in the process of putting my motor back together. Once i get it up that will be the first thing i do, two more weeks and we're back in business.

And yeah i feel like a dumb *** to use the cheap gas, should have tryed to push it a little more to another gas station . But what is life with out mistakes right?
