Default I bet you've never heard of this before

ok. i got the car a while ago and it had a b16a1 in it. it also has a motorcycle gas tank lid. it was there when i bought the car and i have no idea how well it was installed. i installed a turbo that blew my head gasket, so i had to do some work to the motor. a little after raising the car to drain the oil; i noticed that gas was spewing out of the inlet tube! not like gushing, but draining enough that i had a puddle of gas on the ground. thank god gas went down in price! i saw the mark of gas coming out before; like it had done it while i was driving, but i thought that it was because of overfilling. when it does this and i'm driving, i can smell it in the cabin of the car. the car will do it till a half gallon or so is out; then it stops. then starts up another day or something like that. so pretty much, the car does this when it is jacked up on stands, obviously while i'm driving, running, not running, when ever really. it seems almost as though it is temperature related, but i don't know. has anyone ever heard of this? is it maybe a vent tube that got blocked off, or maybe a bad charcoal canister is needed? what the hell is going on with my car?

the tank is probably rotted out, check it for holes around the top side of the tank water sits there causing rust etc check the seam or could be a hose or the filler etc.

ok but how does rust make the fuel puke out of the fill tube? or even holes? i figured it was some kind of pressure in the tank.

why don't you try putting the correct gas cap on it?
when the fuel pump is running the gas tank is under pressure.
