why does my car hops forward while slowing down?
when i took off my foot off the gas pedal to coast to a stop and the car is still in gear, the car will hop forward when it was about to stop(still in motion and foot is not on the brake yet) like an angry tiger preparing to attack the car in front.
the first time i notice it, it scared the hell out of me i thought it sped up by itself wanting to bump the car in front so i have to step on the brake.
is this normal?

it's just normal bucking... the fuel cuts too low then over richens to compensate... so it bucks back and forth...
Generally engine braking is not worth it... it puts wear on your engine and tranny instead of your brakes...
I used to dis-agree with this theory but it is apparently NO GOOD for honda's to engine brake... I used to engine brake EVERY car I've had and had no problems... driving my civic the same way and I've run into ALL SORTS of weird problems that have gone away since I stopped engine braking.
