Default Why am i running so rich?

Well heres the specs on the car

93 hatch
94 ls motor
99 jdm gsr tranny with itr lsd
aem cai
2.25' piping to apexi n-1

Just recently put new spark plugs in and their already fouled (pretty bad black) and i have no clue why it could be? also my idle lopes around pretty bad when cold gets a lil better when warm but still does it, could that be because of my plug wires b/c their the same ones that have been on the car since i bought it and then it sat on my porch for 6 months, lol. Could these be hurting me performance wise? thanks guys.

are you using an aftermarket fpr if so what psi are you running
and yes it would be a good idea to get new plugs
i try to change mine every other oil change
also if your wires look ratty get some new ones
also change your distributor cap and rotor
hell do an entire tune up
go and put in a new fuel filter
that would be preventive maintenence

I kinda have the same problem with my ls motor

93 coupe
95 ls motor (stock)

I've replaced all the fuel componets with stock items, I was thinking that was the problem but still running rich. It also backfires during shifting, it sometimes shoots a flame out of the exhaust. anybody have an idea?

Definitly sounds like its an ignition problem. The reason the plugs are getting fouled is because they are not able to spark. Do what dirty_d_cx suggests and do the full tune up.

U can also change your O2 sensor. If that is bad it can also cause your car to run rich.

Nah im not using an aftermarket fpr. What fuel pumps are you guys using that just posted in here saying your also running rich? im still using my stock cx fuel pump. So i guess a full tune-up is in the making then, hell it cant hurt anything. Thanks for all of the advice guys.
