From time to time my CEL comes on. I have a first gen B16a with a PW0 ECU in my 88 CRX. Each time I get code 2 - oxygen content, code 17 - VSS, and code 23 - knock sensor. The O2's are pretty new, and I am using two in the header, just like factory, the VSS works because VTEC works and my speedo works. I just replaced the speedo cable a little while ago when it snapped. I don't understand the knock code because I only run Shell 93, and what's weird is when I look at the codes for a PW0 in the .pdf manual I downloaded, the JDM CRX SiR B16a isn't even supposed to have a knock sensor but I keep getting code 23, which I looked up and is the code for knock on other B-series. What gives?! It goes away and then comes back once in awhile like every few weeks.

My ECU was throwing random codes until I realized that the ground wire going to my thermostat housing was faulty.
It seems that when I used Hondabond around the Tstat, it did not allow contact for proper ground.
Once I removed all of the sealant, cleaned it and reinstalled everthing was fine. (until another problem occured..sigh.)
