hey when i start my car it shoots straight up to 4 of 5 grand then jumps back down..over and over again... i checked my plugs and there all fine except cylinder one... the plug is compleatly black and there is white powder around the plug wall... please give me your suggestions on what i need to do to fix this... my car is a 1996 honda accord lx

 

done it keep doing it until it warms up? if so then i would say you need to replace your FIT valve.

fit valve?.. ive never heard of that one... where is it...

 

Be sure that there is nothing keeping the throtle blade open. I have seen air filters come apart and do this. Also, throtle cable too tight?

 

check your pcv valve, if its off itll do that rev/die/rev/die thing whenever its at idle, but it goes away when you push the gas. good luck.

 

yeah my 91 integra does that too. the tach bounces from 1000 to 2500 over and over, but it only happens when i'm sitting there warming it up from being completely cold (like in the morning). then after a few minutes of driving around, it stops doing that.

 

thanks for your replies... my situation is a little diffrent though cuz it jumps to like 5 grand and if i try to press the gas it just bogs out... i dont know what it is... it seems like a timing issue but i dont know how to go about fixing it.... anyone else got any ideas.. thanks
