try disconnecting IACV with engine running and see what engine does. If engine idle does not change, may have faulty IACV, vacuum leak, too high base idle setting, etc.
If engine idle drops so much that engine dies, try setting base idle with engine at operating temp and see if that helps.
If when IACV disconnected and engine idle drops to roughly 500-550 rpm, base idle is OK and may have FITV issue or bad IACV.
post back and let me know if you need or want more info in regards to this. Or you can perform a search, as I have listed the diagnostic procedure in complete detail in regards to this exact problem/symptom.
Again, let me know...

you do not want to adjust the FITV and tighten it in all the way. you will have no cold idle control if this is done. there is no actual adjustment procedure for the FITV. the only adjustment is made by the manufacturer to set it to spec. if it is out of spec, you do not adjust it, you only replace it. there are times when adjusting it slightly may work for a while, but once wax inside valve dries out (happens due to wear and age) it actually requires replacment to ensure all symptoms are resolved.

ive heard tighting it in all the way works wonders?

It alleviates the symptom it causes (hunting idle due to vacuum leak), but it leaves the FITV function-less...meaning your cold idle will suffer.
The 'fix' works for some and not for others....but if it truely is bad, replacing it will work 100%.
Its a free 'fix', so why not try it, right?

when cold the idle wont be as high, the car will warm up at about 1100 rpms.
Took mine out and besides that, no other problems
