Default Whirring noise.

OK, I'm praying for one, and not the other. Transmisson I put on yesterday is making a whirring sound when you accelerate - faster you go, higher pitched it gets. Push the clutch pedal in, sound goes away. Whirring is not there at idle.

Throw out bearing? This is a cable shifted tranny. Input shaft bearing?

I'll be pulling the tranny in the morning, so I'll report back, but would like some input on this.

I didn't have time or good weather to pull the tranny today - rain sucks. I am fairly certain from driving it that the mainshaft bearing is doing it. I also noticed a clicking when I spin the wheels by hand and keep them rotating. It is a constant click, not random, so it could be the same thing. Either way. I'm going to crack open the tranny next weekend and replace the main and countershaft bearing to be sure.
