Default Where is the oil pump?

As some of you prolly remember, my timing belt had a few teeths missing in a row and many suggestions has been submited to explain why that happenned. I just checked today if the cam was turning and it does fine, I can make it turn with a rachet (12 mm socket). All the valves seems to work fine as well, at least from the outside. Now 94gsr told me in another post:

"Pull the valve cover & timing belt off & see if your cams both turn. If so, then it's your oil pump."

So now I would like to check out that oil pump, can anyone tell me where is that oil pump?

thanks,

Pat, getting closer to a fix

Edit: corecting mistakes, damn I hate laptops...

it's at the bottom right side of the motor (looking at motor from front of car). the crankshaft turns it.

so it's not the timing belt that make the oil pump turns right?

so explain me the connection between a timing belt with missing teeths and the oil pump please.

My guess would be that the oil pump provide oil into the head and if it's not working then the cam heat inside the head and seize untill it cools down. That would explain the missing teeths on the belt and why now the cam is not seized.

Right?

the timing belt takes this route: oil pump "pulley", tensioner, water pump, then cam pulleys. i don't think an oil pump can have anything to do with missing teeth on a timing belt. maybe you should take the car to a repair shop and have them check it out.
