where to find info on DIY on my honda civic?
Hi Group,
I'm might have to install a new head gasket on my 91 civic si due to excessive coolant leak.
The shop said the charges could be up to $1000 for the head gasket alone.
I can get the gasket for $65 online.
Just want to know if there is information/guide for engine fixing online that can guide me to install the gasket myself.
Alternatively, if its too hard, i am planning to put in a ZC engine in the car. Engine is about $750 and then the install.
What do you all think?
thanks a bunch.

The ZC into your Si will be a joke, its the simplest swap next to putting the same motor back in. If you get it done at a shop then you'll have the old a6 laying around that you can rip open and get to know everything. A head gasket isnt something that should be done by someone whos never really done much on cars. If you want to get into working on your own stuff grab a helms manual http://www.helminc.com

I got my ZC from http://www.hmotorsonline.com all it had was a leaking CPS $2 gasket. And since you've done work on cars grab that helms like I said and a headgasket isnt hard at all.
