maye you can help me as well im putting a z6 head on my y8 and i know they are different lengths but are the threads different. which head studs do i use for this conversion? tried arp and no answer yet. any help i thank you in advance for.
and for your problem, I believe you use 1 head bolt from the y8 head and the rest from the z6 head. the y8 head bolt goes on the intake side of the motor closest to the cam gear
alright I ordered 10 studs the 41mm long ones and they came in last night, took forever it seemed. well they are the same ****ing length that my old ones are. I paid almost 30 dollars for these bitches. what ones do I need. i need longer ones by like a 1/4 inch or so
I gave you two options for lengths. Measure what you need and order. OR in your case, the 41s are not long enough. Now you said you need 1/4" longer....that is pretty much the 50mm ones. Measure then order.
these bastards cost me 116.00

one of my original studs is on the left and the 50mm is on the right, i have a hondata gasket with a blox manifold, but i can see now that the 41mm would probably be perfect, not sure what the other guy is talking about. the length corresponds to the remaining length left after the studs are installed, so, mine stick out 50mm from the head, wayy too big.

im gonna go with the 41mm, if anyone needs the 50mm ones, PM me, they are for sale now $20 shipped
so, i decided i would check my old place of employment (advance auto parts)
and just check to see if they had some intake studs that would work
and low and behold i found some in the "help" isle
Dorman part # 03411
it's a 10 pack of studs and nuts for about $15, 8mm x 1.25 x 50mm
they worked great and even had a convenient 5mm hex on the end of them to make installing them pretty easy
they're meant to be used for ford/lincoln/mercury 4.9L exhaust studs
and just check to see if they had some intake studs that would work

How did you not have that problem?
I'm going to have to cut the studs.
Dood, the threaded side that goes into the head is too long (62mm)
