well go out to the back of your hatch (assuming you have one), there should be a little black circle gromit type thing on each side near the bottom. right where he mounted his. you can take these off and there will be holes in the glass. , you could either drill out a hole in the existing pieces and mount that way or custom make your own piece to fit there.
but is your latch broken or something? or could you explian to me the point of these? not trying to be a dick but really, whats the use?

Yeah the window grommets is how he mounted it.. Im guessing this is for looks.. If not then it would be alot better to just fix your latch if it is broken..
