Default wheels

okay guys new to this so bare with me. I have the regular 185 60 r14 on my 1997 honda civic dx hb. I just got some stock SI rims with 195 60 r15. My question is what type of proformance I will lose or gain with the SI rims and tires? The SI rims will need new tires soon and I was told about 175 65 r15. Would this be a better tire? please help

Thanks

in general a rounder, skinnier tire will give you slightly better gas mileage (almost negligible though) and grip on the ice, and a wider, flatter tire will grip the road better in almost all dry and rainy conditions.

The 175 seems like it would be too small for an SI rim. The stock tire is 195/55-15. I would go with stock size for all-round performance.

175 will be perfect for your gas "proformance" dx and also be perfect for winter "proformance" when cutting through snow to hit decent tartar

The 175 refers to the width of the tire; the 50/55/65 refers to the thickness. The 60s do look rather thick. That's what he meant by looking like a 4x4.

i have a question about offset. if a wheel is +18 does it mean it sits further back in the fender well? then one that says +45? like do the spokes curve further back or buldge out past the wheels front surface?
