Default Wheel & Tire setup question on EK civic.

Is anyone running 17x7.5 wheels with 205/40 17 tires? If so, what offset are you running, I'm thinking of 43. Do you have clearance problems? I really want to go with 17s over 16s due to the limited tire choices with 16 inch wheels.

Personally, if I was gettinga 17x7.5 I'm going with at least 210 width if not 225...

Well, I couln't find a 215 in the tire I want, and I don't think any tire company makes 210's. but 225 is too wide for the suspension of the civic. Tire rack suggests the 205/40 for that rim width, I just don't want it to look funny or rub.

I wouldn't do it based on looks. It ends up looking like the tire is barely holding its seal, stretched across.

I had problem with a 205mm tire on a 16x7 rim. The rim was a tiny bit wider than the tire. This allowed the tire to drop into a pot hole and the rim caught on the edge. This bent the rim. So I went down to a 15x6.5 rim with 205mm tires to prevent this problem. I know a lot of people run 205s on a 16x7 but for me it was a problem.
