Default radiator failure after replacing water pump

i recently had my timing belt and water pump replaced at my honda dealer. within a couple of days (less than 50 miles driven), the top of my radiator cracked and coolant started leaking all along the top.

is this just coincidence, or is it possible that the technicians could have done something wrong while they were replacing the water pump?

prior to this, i had no issues with coolant leaks or overheating.

if the technicians messed up, would honda cover the cost of installing a new radiator?
