whats this sound coming from?
my car has a new d16z6 i think...the japanese version. anyway, when i first turn my car on for about ten minutes or until it warms up my engine keeps reving up on its own...like a pulsating sound. does anyone know what the hell this is.

"normal" civics and integras do. All of them. You should hear a boosted one with solid mounts. Now that sounds ghetto...

i dont think you know what i mean...itll be at 1x rpm then rev up to 2x or more and then back down and then up again...all in like a second. it sounds like im tapping the pedal constintly. i had a tech listen to it and he said that it has something to do with the thermostat and the coolent or something cause it stops once the engins warmed up. what do you think?

OK I have a 99 Civic w/ a B16A2. It idles around 2k when cold.... but smoothly, and drops below 1k when warm.
I know 2 friends, one with a modded D16Z6 95 EX, and one with a turbo 99 LS integra, both of theirs idle like they have cams when cold, like you said, 2k to 1k to 2k and back and forth until its warm. They consider it normal.
Ive seen some Hondas that do that and some that don't

sounds like a vaccuum problem, a friend of mine had a first gen b16a that was doing that after the swap, but his vaccuum lines were set up wrong. check that maybe?
