What's the correct way to jump start?
my bro tried to jump start the car yesterday. He connected the black to black and red to red. It worked but there was some sparks and smoke came up when he tried to connect it. It finally worked though. Are you suppose to connect black first or what? just wanna know so there won't be a fire next time.
pos. to pos. then neg to neg making sure the last one is the negative on the dead battery. Sparks should only come if something is wrong.

The order is correct, but you shouldn't put the cable on the dead battery terminal, rather on the engine block.
This will keep sparks away from the battery, which you may or may not know releases Hydrogen when in operation.
