I was taking the head off my B18 and after it and the intake manifold came off, I saw some black box looking thing right next to the oil filter and it was loose. I dont know what it was but I crawled under my car today and I saw that there was a large nipple like thing that is just like those on the radiator where the hoses go on. Then I saw a hole that the nipple fit right into and I noticed there was a mounting hole there too that was missing a bolt.

What is that black box? I felt oil of some sort inside it.

I been having oil burning problems and thats why my head is off to get a valve job done on it but could this be a reason why im losing so much oil so quickly?

 

what year model is your car? anyways i believe its called a oil breather box and your pcv goes in it and yeah if its real loose then you'll loose alot of oil.

ok.. as you see in the pic, I found got a bolt from autozone but it was too long so I cut some silicone hose and used it as a spacer haha. I think that will work. but hopefully it doesnt leak anymore.
