What valvespring compressor do you use?
I bought a shitty craftsman OHV spring compressor and it just wont cut if for my GSR's valvesprings.
A local shop wants $350 for a 3 angle valve job, disassembly and reassembly of the head.
For just the valve work (assuming i bring them a bare head) it is $125.
Id like to save that $225 if at all possible.
Anyone have a suggestion on a good vavle spring compressor to get? Or do you think the $350 is a reasonable price (keep in mind I already have the new seals, springs reatainers and intake valves).
Thanks!

i got one from the local parts store..just a cheap OHV spring compressor...hte kind that has the things on the side, and a screw/bolt thing in the top that you tighten, ol vague............
I have a 92 Accord and the standard screw type compressor with the two little hook arms didn't fit my springs with out a whole lot of struggling (too big). It also couldn't compress far enough so I had to use a short body O2 sensor socket over the retainer to get enough compression. Personally if I had to do it again I would get one of those bolt down lever arm-spring compressors (bolts into the cam holder holes). Someone here has a homemade one but I forgot where I saw that thread, otherwise they are hard to find.
