Default what is this valve...? ¿should i try to connect it with something...?

we were looking at my friends h22 engine.... and i found somekind of valve that is part of his intake manifold...
he got the swap installed about a year ago...
the engine never gave him any problems....
but it totaly tripped me out when i saw it... it opens something inside the intake manifold...

i haven't messed with it... i don't believe in messing up other people's stuff...
but should i connect it somewhere...?¿ and what hose should i connect it too...???
would it make a difference, and what does it do....

hopefully you guys can give me some answers or some feedback....

thats what opens your butterflies. connect that vacum hose coming out the top of it to the intake manifold. you'd be loosing power if it insnt working

is there a specific vacuum hose that i could tap into..¿

¿and how should i do it...?

¿and when should the butterflies open up...? how much pressure or what RPM range does it open up...???

and will it make a dramatic difference in performance...???¿¿

uh... I'm no H22 guru but isnt there supposed to be a vac switch that open at the right RPM, to open the butterflies. if he just attaches it to the intake they would be open all the time. but very true your losing power if they arent working!!!

Yeah, there is a vacuum solenoid and it is controlled by the ECU. Same goes for Integra GSR.

Yes, I know, but your post was vague. That's why others are allowed to contribute.

DON"T JUST HOOK IT UP TO MANIFOLD VACUUM!!!

with no vacuum to it the butterflies are open all the time. If you connect vacuum to it the butterflies close. The system is designed to increase lowend torque but restricting the intake flow. There is (should be) a vacuum take under the manifold with some lines comming in and going out. There should aso be a vacuum switch on it plugged into the engine harness.
