Default What tools to remove rusty/stubborn bolts?

When I was trying to remove my front bumper today, I encountered several 10mm bolts that would not come out. I tried using a nut driver with an extension to get the bolts behind the bumper lights, but they were held in too strong.

What type of tool woudl get these stubborn bolts out (considering my tight budget).

Use some PB blaster , let it soak and put some *** behind the ratchet.

I used wd40 on the bolts and that did not work at all. Is liquid wrench, pb blaster better for rusted bolts than wd40?

how would u tap a bolt with a hammer if its behind the bumper lenses of the front bumper ?

so is wd40 the same thing as liquid wrench/pb blaster, or does that liquid wrench stuff actually work better?

tap the back of a screwdriver that is touching the bolt, the idea is just to loosen the rust.

i really don't know which works better, i never had them in a side by side test

the liquid wrench container says its the best so there you go

thanks for the help dude

I will try your advice out tomorrow

what about for tools, is there anything with better leverage, other than this nut driver that i've been using.

if you plan on doing more work on your car pick up a nice set of metric sockets 8-19mm and a nice socket wrench with a long extension bar.

i use all craftsman tools because if I break anything I can basically walk across street and get another

edit...
oh and start a tool budget along with you cars budget

i started with around 10 sockets and a wrench. it crept up to this beast

fully stocked + air tools.....

For stubborn bolts, I recommend:

-PB Blaster
-Air tools (air tools are the tools of gods)
-PB Blaster
-A good socket wrench w/ good sockets
-PB Blaster
-Bolt-Outs by Craftsman (because some of them WILL strip off)
-Did I mention PB Blaster?

get a 1/2" drive wrench (cause its heavy duty and a 3/8" drive might strip a gear if the bolt is really that stuck). get your 10mm socket on there, then grab a pipe or something to slip over the ratchet to use as a cheater bar. unless you wanna go out and spend money on a good breaker bar, which, if you're willing to do so, would be an extremely good idea. you'll use it over and over. but just do that and put some muscle behind it, and you shouldn't have a problem.

Come on. On a 10mm rusted-*** bolt? You'll break off the head of the bolt WAY before you need all that.
