What is the sensor that turns on the radiator fan?
Hey guys. I was having a problem with my radiator fan spinning when the car warms up. It never spins!!! My radiator was even starting to steam up and still the fan doesn't spin. I changed the thermostat because I thought maybe that could be the problem. I also jumped the wire for the radiator fan and it spins fine.
My question is, what is the sensor that detects temperature and switches the radiator fan on? Is it the sensor that's on the thermostat housing? If so, what is that sensor called and how much is it at honda??
Thanks guys!

Its is called the thermoswitch, its located in the thermostat housing. I paid like $50 from honda here in canada, so i'm sure its prolly even cheaper in the states.
What kind of car? On my 4th gen prelude, the sensor for the fan is on the fitting of the radiator hose that comes out of the front of the head and the temp gauge sensor is elsewhere, in my thermostat housing like zman said if I'm not mistaken.
thanks guys. my motor is a d16z6. I found it on a honda parts site but i guess they call it the auxilery fan switch.
