Default what is this sensor

what are these sensors? and do I need the one on the left hooked up? The wiring sux (custom/chopped). and I cant find the connector to this wire. and I know there are many other connectors that look the same but I know where all those go.......so what is it and does it (the left one) have to be connected. thanx

the one on the left is the knock sensor? didn't think b18a1 had those

hey im gonna reopen this thread.....I don't think that sensor in the left is a knock sensor, thinking its an oil pressure sensor......but since my wiring is jank, it doesn't have a connector for it, but I do have a canister coming off the lsvtec canister that has a wire running to it, I think it reads oil pressure???? im confused. can anyone else help. I will try to get more pics

its lsvtec. think the block is obd1. its got a hack job 0bd0 wiring harness that im gonna turn into obd1

no doubt the knock sensor on the left and the oil pressure sensor on the right. fan switch is on thermostat cover

its a b18a, that is the fan switch.

It's a fan switch that activates by oil temp instead of coolant temp. I believe only the automatic b18a had them. You won't need it unless your engine doesn't have a coolant activated fan switch.

haha 2 people vote for knock sensor and two for fan switch? its got a vtec head on it if that matters. I would rather just have my own switch to turn the fans on.

It's a fan switch. If it was a knock sensor it would be mounted higher. What year is the engine? I dont think any hondas used knock sensors before obd2 came out.
