Default what is secondary vtec

on a gsr what is a secodary vtec and where does it kick in
do you have to wire this up?
someone just told me about this

They are referring to the secondary intake runners which, on your car, open up at 5750 RPM for enhanced high RPM breathing. Some people stupidly refer to this as secondary VTEC.

so there is no such thing as secondary vtec its just more air going in
does it make another vtec poping sound?
i do feel a boost around 5700 rpms

GSR VTEC comes on at 4400rpm
The secondary butterflies which open up in the intake manifold come on at about 5700. This is not secondary VTEC. It has nothing to do with VTEC. And yes you do need to wire up the secondary butterflies.
There are lots of diagrams that people have posted that show the right wires you need to connect to the ecu but I don't have one. Maybe somebody else will post one up

i do feel a boost around 5700 rpms
the secondary runners are letting in twice as much air into the cylinders and fueling is increased as a result, so yes you should feel a slight kick at around 6k rpms

This is wrong. The longer runners make more low end power, and short runners in the high end increase power. The air just flows to the shortest path.

Of course it just defaults to the secondaries if you don't have it hooked up so you just lose some low end torque.
