What to Rev limit to use?
Hey
Right now I am in the process of building up my ls vtec turbo I know that a lot of people ask " how high can I rev my motor" I am wanting to know this because I am thinking in terms of what turbo an tranny to use for my motor. So all I want is knowledgeable people to reply what would be a safe rev limit to use?

Without a crank girdle, no more than stock red-line on the LS engine...If you have a crank girdle I would hope you would be ok at 8,000....You might want to link this to the "Forced Induction" forum
...and to add
The only real way to see where a legitimate redline should be set, would be on a dyno. A dyno shows where your powerband is at and where it dies off at.

what the **** else do you want. on a stock ls block its not really suggest to rev higher then stock rev limit. but if you have th bottom end built then you need to get to a dyno. see were you power falls off then set the rev limit around there. is that spelled out enough for you

Did you ever think that maybe people want to see what more people other than you have to say about the issue. And yes the bottom end is going to be fully built.

if you have read ALL the posts pertaining to ls/vtec and revlimit and ALL posts about the reasons for changing revlimit, then why bother posting this topic. Because then you would already know the answer. Im not trying to start a flame war.
