ive got a 95 gsr shell, with a b18b(ls)/vtec motor. i bought the car that way, and it has a p30 ecu from a del sol. the numbers read, 37820-p30-000. i tried swapping a p72 ao3 and a p72 ao4 and neither would plug in. what obd am i and what ecu do i need?? im a noob.

are those p72 obd1 or obd2a or obd2b

 

the one i tried plugging in today was the p72 ao3 which i was told was a obd1 ecu. and the ao4 i figured was a obd2 but im so confused so idk.

 

how big is the p30 ecu? a little square or rectangle?
i have a feeling u have obd2 harness not figure out if is a or b

that P30 is OBD1, the P72-A03 is OBD2a

 

im wondering what ecu came on the 96-97 DOHC civic del sol

 

USDM ECUs for the DelSol VTEC
P30-A00 (94-95) - OBD1
P30-A01 (96) - OBD2a
P30-A02 (97) - OBD2a

 

obd2b is what i have in my 96 hx so i doubt he has that

 

All '96 Civics are OBD2A, on top of that HXs were a real oddball, even the '99 - '00 HXs remained OBD2A when all other civics were OBD2B.
