What is need to make CrvTec OR lsVTEC Reliable?
Did the search button, still noting. Is there anything specific that is needed to make the CR/LSvtec conversion daily driveable. I am only asking because people are saying it can't be done which i doubt, but if it can be done is it gonna take alot of work and money.
it will be reliable if the swap portion was performed correctly not some hack job. from a performance stand point it will be reliable up to 8k rpm if at the bare minimum you use arp rod bolts, have the botom end balanced, and use a crank gridle.
Well you should reinforce that sucker with some crower or eagle rods and some je pistons. That should help out greatly and make sure you get a dohc oil pump that b18c1 is the best one.
check out crvtec.com also the feb/march issue of hondatuningmagazine.com article called killer B. I have the swap u are talking about in my car using the jdm spec dohc vtec head with the b20b block no problems drive flat out every day, usually change at 8000rpm but ocassionally shift at 9000 rpm when the need arises.
