What makes a car fast?
Hi I was just wondering what would make a car fast. For instance, let's compare a 5 speed Honda Prelude to a Subaru Impreza WRX. The Prelude has 200 HP and 156 ft-lbs of torque while the WRX has 227 HP and 217 torque but the WRX is so much faster with just 27 more HP... is it the torque difference? What other factors are considered for instance weight? I don't get it!

the prelude actually is faster once the cars are rolling. the WRX has AWD which gets it off the line fast but it looses a lot more power in the drivedrain.
however, I suggest you do a bit of research.
Find out how powercurves, torque, horsepower, gearing, weight, aerodynamics, and traction will affect the performance of a car.
