i have a lsd that i thought would fit my crx vtec, but it didnt.
i think i have a 4,2 final drive
the lsd has 64 tooth, i want to sell it but i need to know whar gearbox it will fit

that's a 14 bolt LSD it came in the B16/GSR JDM LSD transmissions. Hope that FD never breaks.

 

The diff will probably blow before the gear breaks. I pulled one of those out of my YS1

 

I remember a guy on here trying to buy one of those ring gears forever.

Bingo. The bolts are much nearer the FD teeth than the newer diffs, too. That's another hint.

 

so its for the ys1? does it not fit another gearbox?

 

It's definitely from the cable JDM B16 transmission. I think that's YS1. I'm not the most familiar with the older designations. Not too sure if it will fit in others actually. Not without any work to the transmission casings, I would think.

Not sure if you pulled that diff out or just bought it like that, but if you can get access to the transmission case that was removed from (photos or actually see it in person), you'll see that the casing's oil channels/fins surrounding the differential has been grinded down a lot by Honda to make that LSD fit in there. The actual housing of that OEM LSD is just shaped much differently than the OEM open-differentials that come in those older transmissions.

It will fit in other cable cases but fins need to be taken down a bit. I have taken one apart as well, very nifty design inside those diffs.

 

i've got one of these i pulled out of my spare trans. just bought a quaife for it.

its for sale now too and comes witht he ring gear, if you guys know of anything.
