what fuel pump for my setup?
what fuel pump should i use on my setup. i have a stock jdm itr engine w/ cam gears, jdm dc sports 4-1 header, apex'i n1 exhaust, aem fuel rail and a sard fpr. the car originally is an rs and it has about 100k on the chassis and i'm sure the fuel pump has never been changed out. i notice my car kinda lacking something so i'm gonna change this out just to see what happens. what should i get?
no need for anything better than stock. I haven't priced OEM ones but you may end up cheaper with an aftermarket one. Check on a Walbro 195 lph in tank and compare the price vs. OEM.
btw...
If your doing this just because your car feels "tired," I don't see the point. You may just be wasting your money. Check for the obvious first (compression test would be my first check).

my compression is fine i just changed the head gasket out like a month ago. i'm using the stock head gasket and my compression was 250psi across the board. i'll check on that fuel pump and i think i'll just go ahead and get that tune up done. could that explain why i get such poor gas mileage. i get about 220 gallons to the tank. w/ today's gas prices that sucks.

if the fuel pump has never been changed from an RS that means you only have a 79lph pump. the itr's come stock with a 135lph pump. just get a walbro 255lph, you can get them for $80 and if you ever decide to go boost or nitrous or anything you already have it.
what's the stock lph rating for an itr? because i was reading another post and someone said don't bother getting an upgraded fuel pump unless you plan on going fi.

I just said the itr is a 135 lph pump just like all the other DOHC VTEC. The SOHC and DOHC nonVTEC are 79lph. You should bother to upgrade. And also why bother with a 195 lph pump when you could get the 255lph for almost the same price and that way if you ever go boost or nitrous, you have it.
