What exactly is the Vtech?
first off, it's spelled "VTEC"; "VTECH" is a phone....
second, SEARCH! I'm more than sure it's been covered before and it's easy to find.
third, it basically lets you run two different cam profiles; one for cruising and normal driving, and the other kicks in in high-rpm's and is for higher performance.

since were on the subject, what i want to know, is why doesnt every company do this? seems to me it has no drawbacks. and why didnt honda make all their engines with vtec?
or is there some sort of hidden gremlin that people wont admit is there???

vtech is a phone. to use, it pick it up then dial in a phone number. for numbers outside the area code you dial 1+area code+ phone number. pretty easy huh?

Toyotas and Nissans timing control isn't like VTEC, VTEC increases performance, where as the others are more to control emissions. Correct me if I'm wrong, but thats what i've always heard.
-Edit: I just pulled up a link from howstuffworks.com and in the link it states that VVTi is used to control emissions and such, it also says at the very bottom that its used to get peak power out of the engine. But i still think VTEC is in its own category because it is used purely to gain more power and doesn't care about emissions.
