Default What engine is this?







I get different answers from a lot of people... what better to ask than honda-tech?

Check the head and block for codes.

The block code is right by the transmission, on a square section, with the engine code stamped into it.

If it's all USDM and stock it is a D16Y7 (non-VTEC) installed into a '88-'91 Civic or CRX with an automatic transmission. It is DPFI and is possibly running lean because of that.

you get different answers because you are not providing enough information to make a determination. OneBadTurboCRV is most likely right, but without the stamps it could be a d16a, a ZC or a D15b as well...
