Default What else should I replace besides pistons???

Whats up guys, I just got a couple quick questions. Iam planning on replacing my pistons with new ones( JDM ITR ). When replacing them, is there anything else that I should do to my block or to the other stock internals?? I plan on keeping stock rods, I'm just changing the pistons and rings, Are there any other parts that I have to replace, or parts that should be replaced when you change pistons and rings??Should I like get the rods reconditioned or something? Thanks for the help

all the bearings, rings and gaskets

IMO its not worth it to tear down the block just to install new pistons

I concur. It may take longer, but that's fine. Since you're motor is out, might aswell do the whole thing.

Are you going to have the cylinder bored and honed? The new piston rings may require a different stone (for honing) than the stock ones and you may not break-in the rings properly.

You should also have the assembled pistons and rods checked for bend and twist. You don't necessarily have to replace the rods if they are in good shape. Just be sure compression height (measured from the center of the pin to the top of the piston) is the same as stock so the static compression is the same, unless you are trying to raise it - then some math becomes involved.
