what ecu is this?
got this ecu and dont know what it is. wont work code 21 vtec but still hits red line.
what ecu is this doesnt say anywhere.

sorry about second pic being so big. dont know how to make smaller

I think, THINK, it is a Converted P06. It looks like who ever had it before converted to P28 based.
Please as a warning to EVERYONE:
<u>BUY ONLY ECU'S WITH BOTH TAGS ON THEM!!!</u>
to many people converting P06, P05 to P28 and selling them off that way.

301 on the MCU indicates this was a P06-A02.
it has the VTEC components installed though, depending on what's in the chip it should work.
make sure that the diode in the top left hand corner of the ECU (second pic) is in right. the bar on the board should fit with the stripe on the diode.

I'm gonna guess whoever converted this non-vtec ecu to vtec didn't use a 5151 transistor...

Whats wrong with doing this???
If the ecu works and vtec kicks on like it should (if converted properly) there's absolutely no problem with a converted non-vtec ecu.

if there is a 5050 in there now it will do exactly what you say it does.
if the diode is in backwards it will do this also.
double check the diode and the FET in the center top of the left side (connector side)
if it says 5050 start complaining to the guy you bought it from. If it says 5151 then that isn't the problem.

if the 5151 was installed, then the problem could lie somewhere else. 5151 is the correct transistor. I would do what Relic suggests; get in contact with the person who you bought the ecu from...
but then again, maybe the program on teh eprom chip is funked up, or maybe your jumper harness is faulty....
Maybe try this ecu in a friends car to pinpoint the ecu as the main source of the problem..
