What does this wire do?
sup guys just have a question about a wire i accidently unplugged and dont know what it is, as i was changing my oil filter i accidently unplugged this wire that sits on the back of the intake manifold and i dont know if i plugged it back in right or far enough. i tried to slip it past a little nub as seen in pic 3 but when i did i unplugged it again and noticed i was bending the inside middle piece, when plugging it back in do i stop at the little nub or slip it past it, any info and help will be appreciated, thanx.
this is what the wire looks like

I would say it is your air temperature intake sensor, and that the previous owner tried to stick a resistor in it to mess with the values, becuase you dont seem like you put that in there!
you can put a resistor in there to fool the sensor into thinking it's running lean and it dumps more fuel in, i heard that just a while back from someone who wanted to do it. I told him he was retarded wow this must be proof. it looks like a 20ohm resistor. the low impedance must do something. It's the same as like putting in a resistor pack for those low impedance dsm injectors. You can put in a resistor pack or throw in a couple low ohm 10watt resistors. something one of my friends also did

you said it was bending the metal, if it was the pins that are in the sensor make sure they are straight or intact, or it will not work, they slide into the holes currently ocupied by the resistor.
so to unplug the resistor from the plug do i just yank it out because the metal is already bent and plus i dont need more performance on my slow *** egg, it's not that serious. By the way i appreciate you guys helping me out.
Pry that resistor off, throw it far away, and plug the plug back in. Your ECU will thank you.
The resistor tricks the ECU into thinking the incoming air is colder than it is, thus dumping more fuel, I think the ECU can only add about 2-5% fuel from this sensors input, but still, take it out and plug it back in.

hahah, thats the 20hp ebay resistor mod, pull that thing outta there, toss it in the garbage and plug your sensor back in.

am i detecting sarcasm from you? i hope you arent serious about the whole 20hp thing, not flaming but sounds pretty funny, lol, thanx guys for the help, i appreciate it thanx. Just found out another problem with my car, the pedal gets sorta stuck, and can notice it when stopped at a light and the car seems to stay reved up and so i have to pull the pedal back with my foot, any way to fix this? is it the throttle cable?
The sad part is he isnt being funny... They do sell those on eBay...

But yea, sounds like your throttle cable is too tight... Its easy enough to adjust...
Look on the intake manifold, and theres 2 bolts that allow u to adjust the throttle cable...

how hideous! lol, i wonder what the guy who i bought the car from was thinking? i certainly dont notice a diff with it in than out, what a pos product.
Try cleaning the Throttle body, the right way is to remove it then coat it in carb cleaner and scrub with an old toothbrush (or a new one). Clean both sides of the throttle plate and the entire bore and see if that helps. If not check for any binding in the cable. I had (have) the same problem. Try cleaning everything before you go adjusting the cable.
oh no, my engine light just came on, did i need to do something else about disconnecting the resistor and pluging it back into the IAT sensor?

What trouble code does it have stored?
