what does the oil pressure switch do?

Default what does the oil pressure switch do?

I know I know its prolly a stupid question but could anyone tell me what the oil pressure switch is used for???

so when you forget to screw on your oil filter (dont ask) you dont drive away with no oil, it pops the light on the dash when your oil pressure gets low

Ok lemme start from the begining...when i start my car the oil light does not come on. Until the car warms up...whenever i go around coners the oil light will flicker on and off. What could cause this???

That's usually caused by low oil level.
