It could involve replacing the 3rd-4th gear synchro set and 3rd gear. The parts are probably around $250 for OEM honda parts.

thanks no its has nothing to do with changing tranny parts.

Change the transmission fluid to see if that resolves the problem. It is cheap and easy. Sure, your third gear synchros have some damage, but you may be able to extract more life from them with a fluid change.
