The engine code numbers, like what does the b stand for in B18C1 is it a certain classification or type of part in the engine? , they go on, what would the 18 stand for? the C? and the 1? I bet the B stands for the type of block, but i don't know what parts and class. they stand for. anyone? thanx in advance! have one.

they represent a block i.e.
16 equals 1.6
18 equals 1.8
and so on

all the other letters are just so they can classify the different types of motor combinations

B stands for b series motor
18 stands for 1.8 liter
C, C1, C5 stands for the classification and USDM JDM. C=JDM C1=USDM C5=Type R

I'm pretty sure only USDM motors have the number on the end.

Example:
USDM TypeR motor is B18C5 while JDM is B18C
USDM Prelude motor is H22A1 / 4 while JDM is H22A

Correct me if I'm wrong.
