What do I need to replace for new cams?
I've got some serious valve tick going on my k20z1 (85k mi), I've got to get it sorted out. If there is any extreme wear then I'll replace whatever needs be. If the cams come out I'll put new bearings in, but if there is any significant wear on the cams I'll change them, same goes for rockers, valves, valve seats, etc. The reason I ask cams is because it's the place to start because theyre being rotated. I know mixing new and old parts is bad because the wear pattern will not be right, so I'll change anything I need and on all cylinders. So, if I change the cams, I need new rockers, right. About everything else will be fine, such as valve springs, correct? Unless something else is obviously broken.
Another question is what are my best options for parts? Obviously I need to save the money I can. What could I get cams, rockers, and anything else I need for. They will have to be new or have very low miles. Also, are type r cams worth the money if I have to get new cams anyway?

x2. At 85k miles you should definitely not have worn out valve train hardware, unless you've been driving the thing around with no oil in it or something. Adjust the valves and check back.
