Thanx Max, so it doesn't matter if it's OBDI or II?

Ok I ran into another problem, got another working OBDI dizzy and put it on but when I have it all the way advance (tilted towards the firewall) I'm only at 4 degrees of timing, that's way retarded!

I've heard about swapping guts from an OBDII to an OBDI, is this possible and how do I do it?

well kenny; try another dizzy to see if thats it, but what im saying even though cam timing was not messed with it could be wrong from before.. unless you timed the car before and knew it was a 16+_2 degress

you can just use a whole obd2 dizzy; youll just have to repin the plugs. search here on h-t on how to do it; its around

Yeah the car was timed before and set at 16 degrees, after the new dizzy I can't get it any farther than 4 degrees.

I read about repinning it too but I will try another dizzy 2day, thanks bud.

Ok so now I've had TWO dizzys on there and the same problem! It won't let me advance it past 4 degrees of timing! WTF?!

Ill bet money its because you dont have the timing light on the right spark plug wire. If you dont have it on number 1 you wont be able to time it correctly.

Car was timed with it on the #1 plug wire as it has been done countless times, I can easily tell the car's timing is retarded because the car pulls like crap and runs rich.

Well you are definately doing something wrong unless both distributors are bad which i doubt or your timing light is bad.
