Default What is the best tuning shop in the midwest???

Alright well i was going to try and tune my car myself but i realize i don't know nearly as much as the high performance shops around. I have a mildly built all motor b18c in my 94 hatch with an AEM EMS and now i am trying to decide on what shop to have fully dyno tune my car. Here are my choices. Any comments or suggestions would be great.
1. Beeyond Engineering
2. Kingmotorsports
3. JDM motorsports
4. Whip factory

i can tell you i know garage kwai. benson is an idiot, he doesnt know half as much as he thinks he does. if you want your car to go slower and want to spend money, than by all means go there.

Anyone know of any other high quality shops that can actually tune my car right and not overcharge me.

If you have an aem your best bet is taking it to sound performance. They are genius's with the aem. They are more supra oriented by they do hondas to.

We arent trying to be dicks, but he is right about the EMS.

I agree dont goto garage kwai.

If ya got a hondata there is plenty of awesome tuners...

I wasnt aware that whipfactory had a dyno

ill second that... i towed my car to him that was turbo'd (never ran on turbo) with a blank ems for tuning, 3 months later he returned my car still untuned saying i was talking **** and he couldnt finish my car. (all that happened was that i knew he screwed it up by gathering clues when i called the shop, but didnt know what, and posted my situation on HT and then benson convinced everyone i was somehow at fault ) anyways I later had WF tear down the motor and they found out that There were 2 bent rods, a chipped sleeve, bent valves in 2 cylinders, and all four bearings were spun ......

so after i got royally screwed by benson i started talking to lots of people who know him, and used to be friends with him.... basically people told me nothing but absolutly horrible things, and a lot of it im not even going to post because i dont want to start a gang war......

but as for the little things
Rumor has it:

-He screwed over Rob for lots of money(the guy he used to run speedpro or whatever it was called with)(the shop before kwai)

-He doesnt even own kwai, his parents do.

-When he "bores" out a motor, they use some sort of cheasy drill like thing and never check the clearances... i wonder why all the built motors that come out of there cant seal for crap..(im sure hes done a few setups that still havent broken, and i dont care so dont post about how he built someones car and its fast, because he has to make money somehow)

-Lots of the motor swaps they sell that are JDM are stolen.

sorry benson, but you leave me no choice but to post this. I dont plan on trying to take away your business, but what do you expect when you screw someone over like that? thats downright rude. Also, i dont plan on taking any action for my situation because i know karma will hit you like a speeding freight train someday.......

heres one for the signature

GarbageKwai

EDIT: sorry for the spaz out... but you guys need to be informed

Well, I have never used WF yet but I have been to a meet there and I follow some of Dave's posts and he seems to have a lot of knowledge on many things. From what I have seen in the area from that shop seems to be quality and the people associated with WF are friendly. Now, as for King Motorsports... I don't care if they are the only "authorized" Mugen dealer in the country, they are jerks!! So I would steer clear of them at all costs. King Motors has over inflated egos that are going to be there demise in the end. I have also heard many not so good things on Kwai, I used ther dyno once but that was it. Other than that I don't know anything else on midwest shops. Good Luck!!!

Expect my shop to open up in a few years

No joke, only honda specialists as techinicians and professional tools, thats why my car advancement is slow, cuz i have been saving for years to open up a shop with only 1/4 of it being loaned. O yes ... i will have a dynojet ... i will lol

Just wishful thinking heh

Hey man, I live in Brookfield, WI even though it says Palatine IL in my profile. I moved. Do you do independent work for people? Are you a mechanic right now?

i've worked directly with beeyondengineering... and they are great for installations, mech work... and parts. these guys are real good at what they do despite the low budget appearance. I don't know how good they are at tuning with different systems such as ems, hondata etc. i know they use another shop in IL for dyno tuning...

Actually i talked to Bee at beeyond engineering and he said that they would use a dyno in madison he said the dyno time is a lot cheaper there then any dyno in milwaukee. Also he said that he can tune hondata, aem and so on but right now i am pretty much trying to decide of either beeyond or Whipfactory. I am sorta leaning toward whipfactory but i have some time while i do some interior fabrication work on my car before i go to the dyno.

hey... if Bee and beeyond can tune ems, and hondata, then that's where i'd go. i've had a pretty good relationship with those guys. actually just had my lma's done by those guys about a month ago. highly recommended, and i'd like to know where the dyno is that they use in madison, cause i'm in madison, and really don't know of one. there's this new shop called Dynotuned Motorsports, but they're fairly new, and haven't had the time to check them out... maybe their the ones w/ the dyno???

well indy imports is a little to far away and sound performance seems like they are hardcore supra guys and turbo guys and i just have a little all motor civic. It seems like whipfactory would have a lot more experience with tuning b series motors. Any more input would be good.
