What does b16 and b18 mean?
I am very new to this.

 

The letter means it is a "B" series block and the numbers are for the displacement. "16" is 1.6 liter. They also have H, F and D blocks.

 

What is the difference between blocks?
shape? size? or what

 

They're different engines. B series engines mostly came from Civics in Japan, but also in some Del Sols in the US and all Integras. D series came in US Civics, most Del Sols, and the first generation Integra. H is a Prelude engine and Accord engine in Japan. F is a S2000 motor. There are many generations of each series of course.

Basically a B16 is from a Japanese Civic or US Del Sol, and a B18 is an Integra motor. The B18 is bigger in the sense that it has more displacement, but physically it is the same size and weight.

Generally parts are interchangable between engines of the same generation, But there are exceptions.. The only odd motor out there is the B20 motor that came in the 3rd gen preludes, it is nothing like the other b-series motors..

Also to sum it all up.. The b16, and b18, ect are an engine code.. Like the b18c1 is a integra gsr motor and the d16z6 is a 92-95 civic ex/si motor..

Holy ****!! I think there is a guy on here that has a similiar setup in the works...maybe he just bought one of these and is telling me he is building it. Looks VERY similiar. IDk, crazy none the less.
