What all do I need to pass in Texas?
I've got a ls/turbo in a 98 hatch. The motor is obd2 but jdm. The prices went up on us in May and was just wondering how strict it is now. Anybody been inspected lately w/ a motor swap? Thanks for any information.
So you mean everything has to be honda/acura or what? If that's what you mean then it doesn't make much sense to me because you can put aem, dc etc... in Cali as long as it is c.a.r.b. approved and it's 10 times more strict over their.
that what the inspector told me. He didn't pass me with the aem intake. So, I have to take it out. Then he pass it and I put back on. But if you know somebody could hook you up then that's another story.

It is possible I mean I have heard of turbo cars passing but I think its a luck of the draw. When under boost and your fuel is increased it obviously has to be burned and that is what puts your emission numbers over the top
I realize that, but I didn't think it would put me over the top. I've got a very well built turbo kit. It's not some backyard job w/ spliced wires everywhere. The installation is very clean. I'll be using a stock type cat b/c my exhaust is 3 inches now. The exhaust system is very quiet now even w/o the cat. It is a custom mandrel bend with a apex N1 muffler. I know that really has nothing to do with the subject, but when I got it inspected w/o the turbo system they didn't even pop the hood. I've got a FMIC now but I'll have that coverd up when I go. Did they pop your hood when you had your's inspected?
I had mine done in April before the price went up in May. Did the price just go up? I've seen that expensive machine they've got now and just wanted to know what it checked for.
