do you pour coolant into the radiator? or just the resevoir tank?

did you connect the heater hoses to the right bits?

did the heater cable get re-attached to the heater valve?

yeah just open up the radiator cap and run the car for a little that will let the bubbles out.

Thermostat won't effect heat.

Yes it does. Why do you think your heat doesnt work until your car is warmed up? It sounds like your thermostat is stuck open, making the engine run cold, and not allowing the car to warm up, thus the heat now working properly. I hope this helps!

he didn't say his engine was running cold..
he said that it DID come up to temperature but the heater won't blow hot air.
You might want to look at your heating system and less at your cooling system..
If my engine is too hot/cold I look at the cooling system, if my heater or a/c don't work then I look at them components. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.
But, hey you do what you got to do!

Yes Rice_Classic you are right, I must have missed that important bit of info. After seeing that, I would agree it is a heating system problem. Does you temperature control **** turn all the way? If so, does it feel normal when you turn it? Could be you temperature contol cable if it won't quite turn all the way, or it turns too freely. Also may be your heater blower motor.......so those are some things you can check. Later!
