Weird sound from passenger side wheel...
Finally behind the wheel of my hatch after 3 weeks of rebuilding the engine and getting some smoking probs taken care of. Anyway, noticed that there is a weird squeaking/grinding sound coming from the front passenger side wheel. The sound speeds up as the car speeds up and as I slow down, it slows down. I can hear it loudest while driving around 5-10mph around the neighborhood. The sound makes one squeaking sound as the wheel turns, so it's like "chi.....chi........chi......chi." I didn't have time to take off the wheel to look, but I took a quick look at the brake and nothing looked out of place. Any ideas? Could it be the heat shield rubbing? It's pretty loud and getting on my nerves! Thanks for any help!

haha, no, not lately, but I didn't know that worn pads also make noises while the car is actually driving around too?

Sounds like the sensors on your brake pads.
OEM pads and some aftermarket pads have sensors on them, which are merely peices of soft metal. When the pad wears down they make noise to indicate the pad is nearing its end of life. This is usually around 25% or 33% pad left.
This makes a sound like your describing. If its not that could be something stuck in your brakes.

Or rotors warped. As it turns it scrapes on something. Then as you go faster the occurence increases and either becomes one sound;the wind noise covers it up; or the frequency goes past the frequency response of your ears.
