Weird knocking sound? axles?
I recently turbocharged my integra, and when i had it up on the jackstands i noticed some serious grease on the inside of my wheel. That would indicate cv boots going, right? Now today i took the car out and saw a little boost, and the car started making this loud knocking sound (like pipes banging together). At first i thought it might be my engine. it idles fine, and when i rev it standing still it sounds really normal. I searched under knock and most say that it is not that loud. is this what happens when your axles go out? also, the car started violently shaking when i was almost home. i am going to do a compression test later. any ideas/experiences.
well if it doesnt make the sound while youre not moving, its obviously in the drivetrain. ill say its most likely your cv boot, mine exploded the other day, and made the same mess
yeah i just drove down the road and then shut my engine off with it rolling and it made the same noise. I'm having them replaced tomorrow. I love being in debt
Yea, if you arent moving and its not makin noise then your turbo is all good, but if it makes noise while you move then its most likely the axles...mine got bent and did the same thing except my boots were all good, but when i drove it was shakin the wheel all over the place and ****. get some new ones they are only like 175 for both
