weird idle
i got a eg wit a jdm b16 just put a type r intake mani on today everythings good but it was idleing wierd it was surging from 800 to 2000rpms so i read some stuff checked for vac leaks and everything went over it all everything was good but then
i capped off the pcv thing on the front side of the mani and the car idled perfect so i figured that line had a hole in it
i got a new line and ran it from the black box on the back on the block to the mani like it should be i just took out pcv valve and then car was doin the same **** i kno the pcv system relieves crank pressure and not hooked up can wash out ur rings
if i take the hose that supposed to go to the mani and leave it open or hook it to a catch can will it hurt anything? will that be safe?

I just had the same problem............ Im building a sand rail with the engine though.
This may sound weird but trust me and try it!!!!!!1
Here is what totally fixed if for me.
Bleed the air out of the coolant lines. There is a bolt with a nipple on the coolant housing at the front of the engine. start the engine and let it warm up . wear thick gloves and crack it open and bleed all of the air out.
Do this a couple time while keeping an eye on your rad coolant level.
WORKED 4 ME
Let me know if it worked for yourself.

Steve.

It is possible that you now have the throttle cable a little too tight opening the throttle plate slightly. This intail makes the IACV try to compensate for it and then flips out, I think the cable deflection spec is 13mm. Either way there should be a little slack between the cable bracket and the throttle shaft. Just a thought.
