weird chit
first off, happy thanksgiving everybody
this just happened, about an hour ago, today
i was at the conoco getting something to drink, got in the car, stuck the key in, and turned it over.... it fired up, went to about 1500 rpms, and then just shut off, like i turned it off. so i started it up again it did the same thing, fired up , then shut off..
this caught me off guard, my first reaction was, do i have gas, of course, i do, then i pop the hood look over everything, everything checks out okay. so then i try starting it some more, the starter is working, i can here the fuel pump is on, its working, its just turning and turning for about a minute, was giving it a little bit of gas, so i stopped cuz i flooded it a little bit. i waited a few minutes, and tryed her again, it fires right up, buttt it won't hold an idle, so i proceed on my drive, and aat the stoplights i have to hold the idle or it will just die??? this is strange to me, my old 97 coupe never, did this, but sometimes when i would go to start it, i would have to turn the key off, wait a second, then turn it again., but nothing like this, the car that i'm talking about is a 93 si hatch, it has 122k miles, it has just had a new clutch, timing belt, water pump, and a valve job done on it about 2 wks ago, nanyways, any suggestions on this would be very helpful.

I had this happen to me, look into your distributor cause you're getting fuel but not ignition. i wouldnt limp it anywhere, but to where you plan on doing the repair. I had to limp it to, and leave my car at an unsecure location cause it dies on me and never started again, but luckily it was just my 89 civic.
