water wetter ????????
Can I just put a whole bottle in? I mean my over flow tank is low and I do not have time to drain and flush the system.
Its 50/50 now stock civic radiator and I'm in Arizona if that maters?

If your bottle has a hole in it, it may be difficult to put the whole bottle in... Sigh.
It's prolly best to just wait till you have time to do the whole system. When was the anti-freeze last changed? If it's been a while, then wait. If you've done it recently, then just add as much as you can. Add it into the radiator, not the overflow. You're prolly best to drain a little out, and then add back in.

There is some miss information posted above. Water Wetter works best with just strait water. No anti-freeze. Anti-freeze also keeps water from boiling as easy, but it doesn't allow as much transfer of heat from the water to the radiator. This is what the water wetter is designed to do.
My suggestion (as I live in AZ also) is to flush the system completely and add a full bottle of the water wetter then fill the radiator with water only. This on average will drop temps by 20 degrees.

I believe anti-freeze also acts as corrosion protection for the cooling system. Pure water does conduct heat better but the trade off is more corrosion.
I can see an advantage with using pure water on a race motor but IMO it's not worth it on a daily driven street car.

Water wetter does act as a lubricant/corrosion inhibitor as well. No problem there.
I personally have seen a drop in temp of approx 20 degrees only when water was used. This might not show up on a factory guage however, but it does show on a designated (manual) water temp guage, such as an autometer. These guages can be more accurate than the factory.

the 50/50 has only been in for about 2000 mi. I am looking for a cheap way to keep the temp down for about a month til I can come up with some money for a fluidyne (sp?)
The temp is up because it's about 115 today. The stock civic cooling system checks out fine but i am running a b20 vtec so it is taxed.
Any other stuff I should do when I put in the fluidyne

I've tried WW on several car and never have I seen is do jack ****! Total waste of money.
Anyways. You want to have a water/anti-freeze/WW mixture. Don't run just water, that's stupid. Run a bottle of WW, then the remaining at a 10-15% anti-freeze to 85-90% water.
Anti-freeze not only lunbricates the water pump, provides an anti-corosive agent, lowers the freezing point, but it also RAISES the boiling point of the coolant.
but to answer the original question. I would just wait for a flush, that stuff isn't very cheap.
Another point should be made. Use Distilled water only, no tap water.
Put in a cooler thermostat and put in a thermo-swtich which turns your fans on earlier. I know Spoon and Mugen make them, I don't know if there are other options.
Pure Distilled, Yes.
100% water? No, I agree with the 85/15 + 1 bottle of WW...

I can beleive it and it sorta makes sense becuase of what soap does. soap emulifies in the the water allowing it to clean better
ehehe I would like polmolive with aloe (to condition and moisturize my water pump's shaft seal

Just so you know WW= 1 tea spoon of dish washing soap. Pick what ever color you want and the scent is up to you. You think Im joking but Im not.
I guess anything that helps break the surface tension of the water would be a good thing... Soap does indeed do that.
ever poured water wetter into your radiator while the car is running...
it bubbles...
but under pressure.. it's can't bubble
I wonder if de-ionization helps??????

If u think Art's kidding...he's not. I learned that trick from our old buddy, TOO

anti-freeze is the green/pink stuff you buy at the store.
coolant is the mixture of anti-freeze/water/waterwetter, etc that flows through your engine and radiator.

As i understand this black art (not arturbo), you can only use the soap with 100% water. What the soap does is to break the surface tension of water. This allows the water (coolant) to cling tighter to the cylinder walls thus drawing off more heat. The purified water would take the place of antifreeze in stopping internal water jacket corrosion. Doesn't seem possible that a little soap could make your car run cooler.
