water temp gauge???
ok i have searched this easily 10 times but the only way i see how to hook it up is to redrill and tap out the 1 wire sensor under the distributor...is there any way else to do this? its an autometer mechanical
to run a aftermarket water temp gauge... all you do in take out the stock wanter temp sensor UNDER THE DISSY. replace with the new gause sensor and run the wire... that easy..

im almost positive that you are looking at the wrong thing. there should be some hex screws under your dizzy, one of them (i think that it is the top one) you remove and your autometer fitting should thread right in. If you cant figure it out you could buy this http://66.235.211.201/acautote...7.htm then you just have to cut one of your hoses and run this inline, or you can just make it yourself

bump. can some1 show me pic where it goes. i thought it was the 1 wire sensor under the distributer. which is 2 small for the water gauge sensor to thread into

usually on 92 and up cars most people run the temp guage to the thermostat housing. or u can buy a fitting that can fit on the back of the block and screw the temp gauge into the fitting which will go to the block. Don't forget to use som teflon tape on everything no matter what u do.

I placed mine inline with the upper radiator hose</TD></TR></TABLE>
I did the same thing. I made one for a couple of bucks with a copper tee (pardon my soldering skills....... im not a plumber)

no need to post mine. it looks just the same. although on 92 and up i think u can use the thermostat housing. Im sure also on the back of the block is a fitting to also put an adapter and gauge into.
Question: Is the temp from the head, block, or off the upper radiator going to read the same? seeing that they are all in a different location is one going to be cooler/hotter than the other?

problem is that the autometer uses a 1/2" NPT
and no one makes a piece that uses a 1/2" NPT
and a quck trip to home depot, you can have all the parts you need for $5-10
